Once your profile is reviewed and approved by our team, you will be listed in our talent directory, making you visible to event planners and clients seeking live performance artists. If you are not accepted, we will refund any monies spent on membership costs and refer you to the Event Artist Academy where you can fine tune your skills.

Markerplace Talent actively connects artists with a variety of opportunities, ensuring that you receive invitations to appropriate events based on your expertise and availability. Maintaining an updated profile and prompt communication will help maximize your chances of being hired for exceptional live performances.

Additionally, they cannot view or apply for gigs beyond 100 miles of their local area to expand their reach or offer travel opportunities. Furthermore, free members miss out on some industry resources, and skill-building workshops designed to support career growth. Upgrading to a professional membership unlocks these features, offering artists a comprehensive toolkit to book better gigs and develop their craft within the Markerplace Talent community.

Master Members gain full use of the Booking Calendar App, which streamlines scheduling and helps manage your engagements efficiently for optimal work life balance.

Qualifying Masters who contribute to the Markerplace Academy by sharing expertise and adding regular content receive free membership, plus the chance to increase their earnings through additional opportunities. The membership also includes a free Studio Work Listing to connect you with open calls for comission work. Overall, the Master Level membership provides experienced artists with a robust platform to leverage their experiences and enhance their earning potential with minimal effort. This membership also emphasizes the importance of giving back to the emerging artistic community and sharing knowledge to help preserve their craft in an era where many trades face the threat of fading away.

What do I need to do specifically to qualify for free* Master Membership

Annual Tasks for Qualification
We have three annual tasks to complete for qualification:
1. Develop one course
2. Mentor one student for a total of 5 hours
3. Post on our Skills board 1x month
Our Master Memberships are priced at $50 per month, equating to a total value of $600. Additionally, we offer payment for taking on extra students or creating additional courses ($500 per course). Furthermore, every student referral to Marketplace Academy earns a $50 Referral Bonus after they have completed our program!
Course Development Guidelines
An example course should blend a skill you have mastered with a niche market. Ideas might include:
 • Caricatures at Trade Shows
 • Murals for Town and Community Projects
 • Henna for Proms and Graduations
Choose a topic where you have extensive experience and can provide valuable insights and tips to artists who might be unsure of how to navigate this field.
Your first assignment is to create a course on our platform. While this may seem challenging, it's more manageable than you think, especially with the powerful online tools at your disposal combined with your wealth of knowledge. A single course can take various formats, such as:
 • Youtube style video of you sharing insights directly to the camera
 • Point-of-view filming while on the job (Film yourself at your next event and add dialog over it)
 • A keynote or Canva presentation
 • An animated instructional video
 • A 5,000 word booklet (You can write it all, and adding a few illustrations and photos)
 • Or...A combination of these formats
We kindly request that each course comprises approximately five sections, with each section lasting at least 20 minutes, resulting in a total learning module of 100 minutes of content.

*To activate your free membership, it is essential to upload 1 course per year, provide your availability for mentorship and activity post on our skills board. If these requirements are not met, we will revoke your access to the free program and resume the $50 membership fee.

Question 9

How does this work? How do artists get paid ?

We attract event clients across multiple brands that all point to the same product...you. When a client expresses interest in booking you, they can easily navigate through a calendar-based booking system. Once your booking is confirmed on the platform, you will receive a notification in the app prompting you to either accept or decline the gig. If you accept, you will be connected directly with the client. The process involves the client accepting our general terms, which outline key elements like event specifics, safety measures, and cancellation policies. Following this, they will settle the remaining balance with you during the event.

If you decline, the event will simply be sent out to another artist on the platform.
This is why updating your availability on the calendar app is so beneficial, as it will decrease the number of inquiries you receieve that you can’t attend.

Question 10

What if I have an emergency and can't show up to a gig?

Accepted Answer

The most important thing to do is call us immediately. 
No show/no call artists will be removed from the platform.

Alas, life happens. We get that. So after calling us, we will do our best to find a substitute from the platform.

Please note that if you agree to an event on this platform it must be you who shows up. No substitutions are permitted without explicit approval from the MPT.
